Every year for the past forty or so years, I’m made variations of the same New Year’s Resolution to become more like Jesus.

Rich Mullins once put his musings about Jesus and himself to music in a song he used to sing entitled “Boy Like Me / Man Like You.”

Rich always wanted to be like Jesus.

He tried a lot of things and practices to achieve that in his too brief forty years on earth. Then he got hit by a truck and suddenly WAS like Jesus when he saw Him face to Face.

Me, I’m soon to be sixty-six next month, and like Rich Mullins, I’ve also tried many things and practices to be more like Jesus . . . and I’m STILL trying.

But really, I guess I’m just gonna have to wait my turn!
