Hold Me, Jesus . . .

“Hold me, Jesus.”

Does that sound queer for a guy to say or, God help us, to sing?

Tough!

“A man’s got to know his limitations” said a real tough guy once who probably isn’t queer, but if he is, that’s none of our business, now is it?

And Jesus wasn’t queer either or, if He was, who the hell cares! He still bore the sin of the world in His own sinless Self, got Himself crucified for us, went to hell as a condemned criminal to pay for OUR sins, and then rose alive from the dead to prove He IS who He said He IS who can give us His Eternal Life to live with Him, didn’t He?

What?

You say you don’t believe all THAT?

That’s too bad.

I hope one day you do.

Where am I going with this queer post, the last one I will write in this Year Of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two?

Just this, in this coming Year Of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three, I plan to hold on tight to my possibly imaginary Friend, Jesus Christ, and trust with all my heart that He will hold me too!

You got a problem with that?

The world had a problem with Jesus Christ once too . . . and He finished it!

Soli Deo Gloria!

  1. Btw, soon after that song, “If I Stand,” that Rich Mullins sang at Wheaton College in 1997, he rolled his jeep on the freeway late one night driving to a youth concert in the midwest, survived the crash long enough to stand up, and then got hit by a semi. Jesus not only loves us, and longs for us to be with Him, but He also knows how to stage a pretty dramatic exit for us too sometimes! https://youtu.be/4ZDIsJ6M_b0

    1. To mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of Rich Mullins death or “Home Going,” if you will, his old and some new friends released a double album of some of Mullins’ songs. The effort is quite beautiful, in my humble opinion. Enjoy . . . https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kABf-kjbM9TwL-QJtBrOxiRrN49Lk00ZE
